Lonely Planet review for Café Alfresco's

The service ticks along at an outback pace but this place still pulls an unfussy crowd pining for plates of pancakes, roasts, salads, pasta dishes and gourmet pizzas.

    Seductively Tantalising

    rotfang_conspiracy recommends this,

Italy often lays claim that they produce the worlds best pizza's. Although it's origins rest within the beautiful country, it is impossible for another restaurant or chef to ever make such tall claims until they have tried and succumbed to the delectable gourmet pizza's produced at Alfresco's Cafe.

I first tried their vegetarian pizza a few years ago now and words simply cannot do it justice. Such an exquisite and unique taste that challenges all other pizza's within a five mile radius. With both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements, the aesthetic aroma pulsates seductively throughout the restaurant and seeps it's way past the doors, drawing in unsuspecting shoppers. At night, the atmosphere is sophisticated and stunning, with it's premises situated on the corner of Argent Street, you are treated with subtle, yet adequate lighting from the streetlights overhead. The staff are extremely friendly and positive, making the whole experience very enjoyable. Though their pizza's are the starring attraction, their menu offers a diverse range of meals catering for all tastes, from the fussiest of vegetarians to the most famished meat-eater.

If ever you pass through Broken Hill, or even if you're a local who has never stopped by, I highly recommend pulling up a chair to experience the true meaning of 'fine dining'. Whether it be catching up with a friend over a steaming cup of rich coffee or to try Broken Hill's most mouth-watering gourmet pizza's, you will not be crestfallen at the end of the day. The only warning I can give is if you aren't prepared to return a second time - don't go the first! They will have you hooked at "May I take your order".
