Behind its bluestone facade, this penal is a study in the small leaps humanity has made towards enlightenment. The dark, dank and tiny cells display plaster casts of some of the 135 prisoners who were hanged here. Ned Kelly’s iconic armour and the very gallows from which he was hanged are also here. Night tours include Ghostseekers, which include paranormal investigations of the building. It’s not recommended for children under 12.
