Don't bother.
langerz does not recommend this,
Staff very unfriendly, walked past between the bar and kitchen where there is no clearly visible no customers beyond this point signs and is a close access point to the courtyard and one of the staff yelled at me like I was a naughty child in primary school. Found the whole ordeal very embarrasing and considering the long waits for seating all our friends and I decided to give the food a miss.
What a jerk.Good for: Waiting to be seated

if you like Brunswick or Smith st, you'll love this place
ergaster recommends this,
Not the place for a quiet tete-a-tete, but if you're into an alternative vibe and a friendly hustle & bustle, this is the place to go for vegetarian food. Wait-people and customers with dreadlocked or shaved heads mingle with yuppies soaking up the experience.
This well-known restaurant is often busy, so you may have to wait for your dinners, but unless you hate background noise or the people you're there with, you won't mind. If you do mind, try to get a seat near the window and watch Brunswick St pulsating in front of you.
The meals are large, and not terribly expensive. The nachos are "starters" but are big enough for some people as a meal in themselves and very tasty. Some people complain that the food here can be bland, but I have not found this. The last time I went, my burrito was large and flavourful. I must admit that the pizza I sampled was a little doughy - good, but not amazing.
There is considerable variety, with twists on international flavours - Singaporean noodles, Moroccan stew - as well as vegie burgers and pizzas. The smoothies are delicious, even when done with soy. Vegans are well catered for (from memory I would say about half the menu was apparently vegan). The deserts looked delicious but we were too full from the entres and the mains. Unless you are exceptionally hungry, get one entre between two, and one main each.
Not the place to propose marriage or to end a marriage, but for a backpacker after some colour, a dyed-in-the-wool vegetarian, or a yuppie with a conscience to sate, this place is worth checking out.

a DEFINETE must go for any visitor to Melbourne!
clafairy_wally recommends this,
This restaurant is one of staples that everyone has gone to at least once in Melbourne. Situated on the bustling hub that is Brunswick Street, the atmosphere is electric especially on a friday night before going out and can also get very crowded as it is so popular. If you are booking for a function, try and get an upstairs table as its quieter and more intimate, and is also a good idea if you wish to take your loved one there.
The food is always very filling and also at a very reasonable price with their Nachos and Burgers a favourite with many customers. Although always keep a look out on their specials board because there is always something different and very tasty on it. The restaurant also caters for vegans so you can take care of even the most fussiest of diets there!
My personal recommmendation is an entree of their Spring Rolls which is filled with amazing aisan greens and comes witha delicous dipping sauce and the Paploma pizza which has roasted pumpkin, Fetta and Spinach on it and is absolutely melt in your mouth delicious! Wash this down with one of their Organic beers on the menu and its a heavenly dinner.

Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere...

Great food, great prices, great atmosphere. What more could you want? A popular with the locals it can often look like you've walked into organised chaos - and you may be waiting a while for a table but it's worth it. If you're looking for something quiet and secluded this is NOT the place to go-but if you want to meet people, people watch, or hang out with friends - then Vegie Bar is for you. Regulars go straight for the specials board as they've usually tried everything on the menu and they know they can't go wrong!
