    What a delight!

    Such a delightful nature of the staff! After our delicious meal of sirloin steak, I had a mad craving for a 'vienna coffee' - cafe` latte with rich cream. They don't have it on the menu, though I asked as a curiosity anyway - it was one of the most delicious Vienna Coffees I have experienced - and what was more delightful was the skill & willingness with which it was delivered! I will certainly be returning - you should too!

    A humble review

    I am completely opposed to hyperbole and exaggeration when it comes to reviews. A lot of reviews on here are just a little over the top.

    Please remember that when I say that there is no doubt in my mind that the steaks served at The Courthouse Hotel represents the culmination of the biological, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual evolution of the human and bovine races. If it were revealed that the very existence of the human race was merely a mechanism to bring this steak into being, that my own life and the lives of all humans before me were designed by the almighty in order to bring about this tender perfection, I could die knowing my life was well spent.

    Great food, occasional lapses in service

    The food here has been great every time I've been. Really good veg dishes (though not in the set menus, unfortunately), and especially creative side dishes and entrees. Most times I've been the service has been lovely and efficient, with a cosy warm atmosphere. However, the one time we went with a group the experience was really disappointing. We were given a most uncomfortable table -- four out of six of us had table legs between our legs. Plus they forgot our mains, and we were left with a really long wait for our food. No explanation til we'd already been waiting long enough to get grumpy, and no offer of a free drink or side to help pass the time.
