Ladro

Lonely Planet review for Ladro
Breathtakingly simple, just-right pizza, pasta and roasts pack in a diverse, if polished, crowd every night. Book ahead: believe us, the Lazio, smeared with an artichoke and anchovy paste and strewn with fior di latte, is worth getting organised for.

Tru dat! Ladro is up there with Melbourne's best pizza.

One of the best things about Ladro is that you feel like you are eating at a laadee da restaurant, but the prices aren't too stupidly expensive. Just mildly. Eg: You may bulk at paying 20 odd bucks for a pizza, but it's damn fine pizza, the wine list is really ace, plus the memory of the Italian trifle I had there once for dessert has me reaching for some sort of towel to wipe away the saliva accumulating in my mouth at present.
Basically, you can do the romantic 3 course dinner thing there with your lady or fella and get away with spending under $150.00 all up. The same kinda vibe elsewhere will cost double that. Like I said mildly expensive, just not stupidly.
