Lonely Planet review for Old Kingdom
The queues are here for three things: duck soup, Peking duck, and duck and bean shoots. The owner’s one-man show is a bonus, as is the classic no-style décor. You’ll need to preorder for Peking duck.

Go for the duck, stay for the King...
lwnski recommends this,
Old Kingdom is a bit of an institution for those of us in the elite upper circles of the duck appreciation society of the inner north. Sure the wallpaper looks like my grandma picked it out in her youth and the walls, floor & doors have that quaint, going slowly yellow with decay kinda vibe that all the GEN Y kids dig these days, but thats called ATMOSPHERE my friends, and Old Kingdom has it in spades.
I could ramble on about the many tasty dishes on offer, and of course the 3 course Duck which is moist, tender, and has a sauce who's flavor could only be described as "SHAZAM" ...BUT the real reason we all come back time & time again, is the KING.
If Benny Hill and Elvis Presley ever had a love child in heaven, then surely the King would be the end result. Lookin sharp with a pencil thin mo and a shiny black quif that the fonz would die for, this man will hone in on your group table and make you laugh, cry, and have you in the palm of his hand by the time the steamed rice hits the table. Come back a week later, he'll tell the same jokes, yet YOU WILL STILL LAUGH. If you stay long enough you'll even see him at a table cleaning cutlery and folding napkins at the end of the night, cause the man just doesn't know WHEN TO STOP GIVING.
Long live the King.

If you are here for the Peking Duck only. Then come here as they have the best duck in VIC.
If you aslo want service and atmosphere than you might be disappointed.
You will get 3 course meal with the Duck.
1. Soup
2. Peking duck pancake
3. Stir Fry Duck with bean spount.Just do not order anything else you will be disappointed and out of pocket.

Could it be Melbourne's most popular Peking Duck?
ride_on_postman recommends this,
An old-school chinese restaurant on Fitzroy's cosmopolitan Smith Street, this is a traditional Peking Duck venue. The owner is indeed open to witty banter.
It's BYO alcohol, so the bottle shop next door comes in handy if you are after a bottle of Chardonnay or a Tsingtao to wash down the duck.
