Lonely Planet review for Small Block

In this village-like strip of shops, Small Block acts as the community centre; its neighbourly drop-in and stay-awhile vibe is a hub for local activity. Big, beautiful breakfasts (eggs and otherwise) are worth writing home about. Salvaged service-station signage and concrete floors, plus warm and efficient service combine to make a super environment in which to write postcards home too.

    Funky breakie hangout.

    daveree recommends this,

A small little cafe on Lygon st in the up and coming North Carlton, Small Block is a cool place to sit back, have a coffee, read the paper and catch up with fiends. Sitting on the sunny veranda I enjoyed the Hervos Rancheros, a delicious Mexican styled breakfast with white beans, tomato, burrito and a whole lot of other delicious things. The coffee is good. the food is rustic and reasonably priced and the staff are easy going and funky. A cool little place for a quick coffee or a late breakie.

    Small Block Summer Heaven

    mishty recommends this,

Small Block's "Summer Breakfast", with the perfect combination of eggs, creamy fetta, spinach and their divine beetroot relish makes this undoubtedly Melbourne's best breakfast! (Big call, I know).
