    I came for the eggs, but stayed for the atmosphere

    Oh Retro, sweet Retro, I think I left my soul in your tender care sometime back in ’06.

    You provide my perfect weekend, from sitting outside on sunny Saturday afternoons embracing your happy-hour prices with your friendly/insane/costume-party-obsessed staff, to 4pm Sunday eggs benedict slumped in the front window couch people-watching, in a state that can only be described as ‘delicate’. You are both the enabler that creates my hangover and the carer that soothes it away, like some perfect circle of life forming and dissolving anew on a weekly basis.

    Your pasta is magnificent, your menu extensive, you make your staff wear ties, and the dinnertime bustle never fails to cheers my soul. Even the annoying ex-boyfriend working the coffee machine wont prevent me from admitting that your coffee is divine. What’s not to love here?

    Get me back to Melbourne quickly so that I may loiter in your divine presence once more. Have my soy chai latte waiting, extra honey - as always, thanks. xox
