Between laps, locals love catching a few rays up in the bleachers or on the lawn. The pool's Italian 'Aqua Profonda' sign was painted in 1953 – an initiative of the pool's manager who frequently had to rescue migrant children who couldn't read the English signs. The sign is heritage listed (misspelled and all – it should be 'Acqua').

    A clean, safe, well-managed and centrally located pool

    this facility accommodates a very nice 50 meter pool and a toddlers pool. The 50 pool is excellent for lane swimming; I used to train there several times a week (preferably in the morning as it was less busy at this time) and have never been disappointed by the condition of the facility or the staff. The toddlers pool seemed to be nice too.
