Curry Leaf
Hilton Colombo has arguably the best array of upscale international restaurants in the city. Curry Leaf, tucked behind the main building in a lovely garden that recreates the atmosphere of a traditional village, serves excellent Sri Lankan food. It also has an arrack bar.

Many people eat in their guesthouses, where some of Kandy's tastiest food is to be had. Particular kudos go to the kitchens at Lakshmi Guest House. Nonguests are welcome, but should call ahead to make sure there's enough food to go around.

This typically fly-infested servery has particularly delicious rice-and-curry meals. The vegetable curry is mild, the saffron rice is laced with raisins and for Rs70 you can add a chunk of prefried chicken.
