The chikungunya virus and travelling to the Caribbean

Dear Thorn Tree,

December marks the start of the peak Caribbean travel season and as chikungunya continues to spread throughout the region, it's unclear how much travellers know about this debilitating virus. Thanks to those who have already raised this topic on Thorn Tree to help improve awareness. Below I've included a link to an article I've just published that aims to help educate those considering a holiday or extended travels in the Caribbean (or other affected parts of the Americas) over…

Tickets to Cuba

Any info about cheapest place to buy airline tickets to Cuba? I saw €250 one way online, which seems very expensive in NZD. Then saw $199 (I assume USD) one way from Havanatur (Bahamas) Ltd. Would a local travel agent in Nassau have a better price than Internet sites? What would be a good price?

I enjoy walking, nature, a little history, local culture, meeting people (as long as they're not pestering me to buy stuff!)
I'll be based at Cable Beach. I will be using public transport. I believe the no 10 bus will take me into town. Is…

Bus Service Santo Domingo to Las Terrenas

Hi! I am traveling from Santo Domingo to Las Terrenas on Dec 29th and have a couple questions. First: I see Caribe does not allow for reservations during New Years, will it be difficult for me to get a bus ticket if I just show up at the bus station the day I want to travel? Second: Is it best to take the bus to Samana or Sanchez? Thank you for any help/info!

Visa for British citizen for the Unietd States Virgin Islands

Hi

I am organizing a work related trip to the United States Virgin Islands and I was wondering if anyone could guide me through the Visa process. I assume that it being a territory of the US that I would need a visa. However would I need a specific US VI visa or would one for the United States do?

Many thanks
