four of us are flying to Kutaisi (arrival early morning). We would prefer to use public transport to get to Armenia (not necesserily Yerevan) Do we need to go through Tbilisi (we´d rather not)?
Also we´re taking our paragliding + camping kit with us, so our luggage will be really bulky. One bag takes about as much space as a person. Do you think marshrutka drivers will agree If we pay for the luggage as much as they would charge a person?
Because of our luggage and the need to travel…
What are the travel options for Yerevan - Alaverdi, and Alaverdi - Tbilisi, in terms of trains or minibuses? I'm looking to find out about time it takes and cost, but am struggling to find schedules online. Any help appreciated!
In july/august I will be travelling in Armenia and Iran.
Preparing my trip i would like to know if there are busses from Goris to Tabriz ?
How long does this take and do we have to book tickets in advance ?
Hello again. I'm interested in buying an Armenian carpet. Can anyone recommend showrooms in Yerevan? I suppose carpets can be found in the weekend market as well?
Second question, I have a friend who asked me to bring back a duduk. Are there any centrally located instrument shops in Yerevan, or is this something that is easier to find on the aforementioned market?
Thanks, and have a good weekend :)
Hello fellow travellers,
Can anyone suggest the latest info on the transportation from Yerevan to Tbilisi? I found some info on the web but probably not very up to date. I prefer to fly if this option is available, if not, probably by mini bus.
- I googled flights from EVN to TBS, there were direct flights by Georgian Airways came up, but on the official Georgian Airways website, they do not even have this option! Are there any direct flights at all between the two cities? And if yes, where…
My partner and I tracked our expenses while backpacking for ~3 weeks (19 days) in Armenia, and we've finally written up an assessment of our spending. Hopefully it will be useful for others that are considering backpacking through Armenia sometime soon :) All of the figures below are for one person.
Quick summary: Armenia, though cheap, was a bit more expensive than neighboring Georgia. This is primarily because sleeping/accommodations was more expensive. Thinking it's…
has anyone reading this visited the Mozrov caves near Yeghegnadzor?
Actually, I am not interested in the caves, but wondering if there is a chance to find accomodation in the nearby village Mozrov. Very basic accomodation would do. I know it is a small village, but due to the nearby caves the villagers might be aquainted to tourists a bit.
I would like to use Mozrov as a destination for a hiking trip from Noravankh. Probably we could call for a taxi to Yeghegnadzor, but I would…
Hello! I will be landing in Yerevan's airport 0445. I know it's not exactly the best airport in the world in terms of links to the city and most likely I will have to take a taxi. I speak nothing at all of armenian and very very few words in russian. Therefore I would like to know if there is a way I can avoid being scammed or something.
There was a service called Aerotaxi, but their site seems to be offline. Also I absolutely HATE haggling. I am really not good at it. How much is the fair…
