Bus

Neuquén is a major hub for provincial, national and international bus services. Accordingly, its new bus terminal (445-2300; Planas Teodoro s/n), about 3.5km west of the Parque Central, is well decked out, with restaurants, gift stores and even a luggage carousel!

Several carriers offer service to Chile: Plaza (446-5975) and Igi-Llaima go to Temuco (AR$70, 7 hours) via Zapala and Paso Pino Hachado; between them there are nightly departures except on Wednesday. Igi-Llaima and Nar Bus combine service to Temuco (AR$92, 14 hours) over Paso Tromen via Junín de los Andes nightly at 11pm. Andesmar goes three times a week to Osorno (AR$130, 12 hours) and Puerto Montt (AR$120, 13 hours) via Paso Cardenal A Samoré.

Neuquén is a jumping-off point for deep-south, Patagonian destinations. Northern destinations such as Catamarca, San Juan, Tucumán, Salta and Jujuy require a bus change in Mendoza, though the entire ticket can be purchased in Neuquén.
