Getting there & away
Tafí’s impressive bus terminal (421031; Miguel Critto), near the corner of Av Juan Calchaquí, is 400m east of the town center. Empresa Aconquija has eight buses a day to Tucumán (AR$15, three hours). Buses head the other way to Santa María (AR$14, 1½ hours, four to six daily) and Cafayate (AR$16.80, four hours, two daily) via Quilmes.
The road to Santa María, Quilmes and Cafayate is spectacular, crossing the 3050m pass known as Abra del Infiernillo (Little Hell Pass).
