I am planning a bicycle tour starting in January, but I haven't decided my direction; Ushuaia to Bogota or Bogota to Ushuaia?
It will take at least 6 months so I will arrive at either destination by July-August
I know in summer the wind in Patagonia seems to be an issue. What about winter ? I have read one report saying it's not windy in winter but very windy in summer.
Thank you for your time
My friend and I are heading directly to El Chalten on 4th Apr after we are arriving in El Calafate by flight. We know Easter Day falls on 5th. So we are concerned about the direct bus tickets from El Calafate to El Chalten on 4th. Does anyone know the departure time for the last bus heading from Calafate to El Chalten? Can we book the bus tickets online a=in advance? If so, what is the website to book (from overseas)?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, in January I need to get from La Plata to Ezeiza airport in time for my 8am flight. I'm struggling to work out how to book the taxi, how much time I need to leave and how much roughly it should cost.
Can anyone help? Its a domestic flight but I'm nervous about these things so want to arrive 3 ohsh hours before.
Many thanks in advance!
I need to choose between 2 days in Chalten and 5 days in Briloche VS. 4 days in Chalten and 3 days in Bariloche.
I have no problem with easy-medium level tracking so i would like to know which place you would reccomend to stay longer.
Thank you, Adi

I'll be arriving at EZE midday on December 31. I am planning to take a taxi or remise to my hotel in San Telmo, but I received a response from a taxi pre-booking agency saying they aren't taking any reservations as they don't know how many drivers will be working that day. This makes me wonder if I will be able to find a taxi or remise when I arrive at the airport?
From another LP post I learned there is a bus Tienda León to Puerto Madero and then I could take a taxi from Tienda León's…
Does anyone know if you get a decent rate for Chilean pesos in Argentina? I know about the blue dollar but am unsure id the cambios will do a similar favourable rate for their neighbours pesos.
We're heading over the border tomorrow but have left it a little late to get some more USD. We have some, but it would be great if someone could let me know if I'll be paying a lot more for my steak when I arrive!
I am looking at rooms available in Ushuaia second week in January and it seems reasonable rooms are already becoming scarce. I was planing on working my way from Ushuaia to Santiago over 40+ days. Is room availability going to be a big problem in all the major tourist areas heading north, if I don't book far in advance during the high season? Does it improve at all in February?
