I will be going in December and tickets are not available yet? I want a sleeper seat. Anyone know cost? When online tickets become available? How the trip is?
I am planning to travel to Argentina and Chile covering mainly Buenos Aires, Santiago and Southern Patagonia regions of El Calafate, El Chalten, Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales. I would be covering the main attractions of Perito Moreno, Torres del Paine, Fitz Roy range as recommended by the Lonely Planet books of Chile and Argentina.
I will be flying into El Calafate (FTE) from Buenos Aires and visiting the nearby attractions. Based on my research of the region, it seems like…
I'm heading to Argentina for work in october and I'm going to extend my trip for a week. I'm planning to go to Iguazu and stay in that area. I was looinkg for an ecolodge to stay in the forest for two or three nights as part of that trip. Can you recommend any? I have found some online but they seem to be rather expensive! I'll be a budget traveller.
Hi, we're considering renting a car and driving from BA to Bariloche instead of bus/plane in december, we'll also use the car for some driving around Bariloche, but I'm not yet sure where.
First, does anyone know if a regular car will do, are the roads in general decent, or do we need a car suited for dirt roads?
Second, any suggestions on nice places to sleep along the drive from BA?
Third, any general advice regarding our plan?
Thanks in advance for all answers :)
I am from the US and am flying into Rio Grande to meet an Argentine national this January and I am trying to work out the details of the trip down to Ushuaia. I suppose my first decision is whether to go by bus or to drive.
Assuming we go by bus, we would be going with Tecni Austral/Tolkar. The minivan services Lider and Montiel seem to limit baggage to one carry on, and we will both have large suitcases. I have looked over the Tolkar booking process on 2 sites, andesmar and ticketsonline…
My biggest dream has always been to travel all the way from Buenos Aires to Tierra del Fuego and then up to Santiago... by car.
I have about 5 weeks to do this and ideally I would like to include Peninsula Valdes, Ushuaia, Torres del Paine, El Calafate, El Chalten, the area around Bariloche and then cross into Chile and visit the area around Puerto Montt, Chiloe and then up to Santiago/Valparaiso.
As I know I can't pick up a rental car in Buenos Aires and leave it in Santiago, I was…
Hi, I m planning to trip to South America for Buenos Aires, Iguazu, Rio de Jenerio trio. I m going to Iguazu's Argentina's side first. Then I will pass to Brazilian side by bus or car and my flight to Rio de Jenerio is from Brazilian Side. So i just need to help to learn if there will be a problem with that? When we pass from Argentinian side to Brazilian side , can we have a visa for Brazil in border ? Can we have in & out stamps ? if there will be a problem in airport at Brazilian side when we…
Hello, everyone. I plan on climbing Mt. Aconcagua this coming December. I'm hoping I can receive some suggestions/advice on a good tour company to go with. I'm not looking for anything luxorious, fancy or expensive. I've done a few high altitude treks(kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp, etc), but Aconcagua will be the biggest and hardest I've ever trekked. I will be on a budget, so I'm hoping to find a reputable company that won't be too expensive. Any tips and or advice will be greatly appreciated…
