Getting around

To get to Aeropuerto Fisherton (Fisherton Airport; 451-1226), 8km west of town, take a remise (taxi), which costs AR$25 to AR$30. A reliable remise operator is Primera Clase (454-5454).

From the local bus terminal on Plaza Sarmiento, bus services run virtually everywhere. Buses (www.rosariobus.com.ar shows routes) accept the AR$1.25 fare in exact change; otherwise buy a tarjeta magnética (magnetic bus card) from any kiosk. To get to the city center from the long-distance terminal, take a bus marked ‘Centro’ or ‘Plaza Sarmiento.’

To rent a car, try Dollar Rent-a-Car (011-4315-8800; www.dollar.com.ar; Paraguay 892) or one of the several at the airport.

To rent a bike, head to Extreme Bike (421-5952; www.extremebike.com.ar; San Lorenzo 981; 9am-1pm & 4-8pm Mon-Fri, 10am-1pm Sat, 4:30-8pm Sat Dec-Mar), where good-quality mountain bikes cost AR$25/35/45 for the day/24 hours/48 hours. You’ll need to be 21, and bring a passport and either a credit card or AR$200 deposit.
