Lonely Planet review

Occupying a marvelous centenarian building, all high ceilings, stained glass and artistic flourishes, this hostel makes a great base a few steps from the costanera . Comfortable wide-berthed dorm beds have headroom, facilities – including free bikes – are great, and the warmly welcoming management couldn’t be more helpful.

Our independent authors have visited Bienvenida Golondrina Hostel and selected this as one of our recommended hostels in Corrientes.

Description provided by property

Just a half-block from the port, is Corrientes first backpacker hostel in town: Bienvenida Golondrina. It is a tranquil destination for migratory golondrinas (swallows or backpackers) to rest before continuing their journey to Iguazu, Salta or Esteros del Ibera.

Its century-old building has been carefully restored. Paintings of the river brighten the lobbys windows.

The property has many quiet sitting areas, interior patios and a rooftop terrace where guests may write letters, read or just relax. The four to six person dorms have sturdy bunk beds with lockers.
