I'll be arriving in bariloche from chile in a few weeks time. Since I am from a country that uses the euro I would prefer to access the 'blue' market using the euro, but the question is, do I get a good rate for euro cash in bariloche? Or do I really have to carry USD? Chilean pesos would also be an option for me, I could just get them from the ATM before I cross the border.
I've got 28 days jan 21-feb17 and need help with planning and determining budget.
My interests are day hikes (not treks), mountain biking and kayaking in beautiful natural settings. Not a city fan so prefer to base out of parks or rural /towns. My plans are to fly to el Calafete and bus to/from el chalten and then head to lake district.
Since this is high season:
do I need to book air now?
What about lodging? (I like to stay flexible)
Can I find basic double room (clean and good bed) for 50…
I am planning to travel from Bariloche, Argentina to Puerto Varas in Chile. I can see from google earth that there is a mountain road from Lago Espejo (near the camping area) through the Paso Cardenal Antonio Samore and on to the Roadway 215 on the Chile side. Has anyone traveled this route and is it permitted to cross this way? From the satellite images there appear to be some buses on the road and also there seems to be a frontier station a few km from the border on the Chile side.
As in the topic: I need a competent no-frills guide. Joining a group or going solo+guide, I don't care. I will carry all of my own stuff and I don't need to be spoonfed. If anyone know anything, especially knowledgeable guides offering excellent value for money, please let me know. I would appreciate it if you could draw from your own experience. Thank you!
Is there a direct bus that goes from Salta to Purmamarca?
I looked up Plataforma 10, there is a Balut that goes to Cruce Purmamarca, but I don't know how close is Cruce Purmamarca to the centre. In any case this service is not frequent.
I don't mind changing at Jujuy if necessary, but I can't find the names of bus companies that go from Jujuy to Purmamarca. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
As we are football lovers we would like to go to a match while in BsAs. We will be going through an agency with transfer/guide and get tickets in one of the safe sections.
We have a seven months old baby and will carry him in a carrier(he will probably sleep) and he will have earmuffs on. Have anyone here experience on bringing kids to Boca stadium or just been to a match and would like to share some views?
The tickets agency says its no problem bringing kids, but Ill like to be…
We (2 people) are looking to trek the W from west to east in December. We realize it will be very busy and have yet to book spots at the refugios or campsites. Some basic questions for those that have done it:
Recommended spots for each night?
I know refugios themselves fill up fast, do the camping options at the refugios (I understand some have camping onsite) fill up / need to be booked ahead of time
Do the free camping options need to be booked in advance
Any thoughts you have would be…
I'm planning a trip to the area in the end of March and would like to get few recomandations.
I'm still thinking if I should skip Ushaia and fly straigat to El Calafate.
Is it possible to do Ushuaia----> Bariloche in 12 days without flights? Other then the fact that it's "the end of the world", is it worth visiting?
Which places are worth stoping?
Any recomended places to sleep?
Thanks for your help!
