Getting India visa while in Buenos Aires

Hi

We are travelling through South America at the moment and planning to try to fly from BA over to India in March.

I know we need to apply for Indian visas prior to flying and want to know if anyone has any information or first hand experience of applying for a visa at the Indian embassy in BA?

Specifically I want to try to find out if this is definitely possible to do and how long it is estimated to take.

Many thanks :)

Hey everyone!!

I will be arriving in Buenos Aires (first stop) and thinking about offering haircuts in the city for tourists/travelers/whoever looking for an English-speaking hairdresser.
Do you think I could be able to make some money out of this for my travels??

DKB VISA Card

Warning for travellers who plan to use german DKB VISA Card (Deutsche Kreditbank AG) in Argentina. These Cards do not work in Argentinian ATMs. No, my card is not defect, it works well in other countrys. I hopped between Uruguay and Argentina the last months, in Uruguay everything works fine, Argentina: definetly no money out of ATMs from Ushuaia up to Buenos Aires.

Hi everyone!

My boyfriend and I are planning our holidays in Argentina, from March 22nd until April 3rd.
We have never been in South America before and would like to experience both culture and nature of Argentina and Patagonia.
Our main interests on going to Argentina and Patagonia are: see glaciares, wildlife watching (penguins, sea lions, whales, orcas), outdoor activities in unique landscapes (hiking/ bike).

Our plan is:
Peninsula Valdes - 2/ 3 days - specifically for whale…

Crime in Buenos Aires

Hey there!

I'll be there end of March /early April with the hubs. We are both fluent in Spanish (Castellano).. I am better at it than he is since I am a native from Peru. I think we can both pass for locals.. white, slim, green eyes, light brown hair.. Most of my Argentine friends look like me or are blonde haired blue eyed so I don't think we'll really stand out in that sense.

We plan to take the essentials and treat the streets no different than when we go to Lima.. although I have never…

Safe blue rate exchange in Recoleta

Hey guys,

Hubs and I will be staying in Recoleta (Buenos Aires) for 7 full days at end of March/early April. We would like to know if anyone knew of a reputable and safe place in this neighborhood where you can exchange USD for Blue Rate.

We are staying in Avenida Santa Fe (I know it's a large avenue but as a point of reference)

Thank you,
Karla

Changing dollars in Mendoza

We are flying to Santiago de Chile and will be taking the bus to Mendoza on Feb.5th. I have seen some posts about changing dollars in Mendoza but they were posted about a month ago. Does anyone know what the blue rate is now and if it is possible to get it in Mendoza? I read about the galleria on Ave.Santa Fe. I speak Spanish. Will that help?
We will then be visiting Cordoba, Salta and finally to Buenos Aires. Can we get the blue rate in these cities? I just read that sometimes you can't…

El Calafate and El Chalten in late April / early May

Hi,

I've asked a few people I know this question and have received mixed responses, so I thought I'd try here.

I'm flying into Buenos Aires on the 23rd April and flying out again on the 5th May. Right now I'm struggling to decide between Salta / Northwest Argentina, and El Calafate / El Chalten and Patagonia. I don't want to rush too many things into my two weeks there so I'm trying to choose one or the other to go with a few days in Buenos Aires rather than trying to cram both in and things…

Buying bus tickets with Argentine pesos

I am planning to travel throughout Argentina by bus in February and March. I am visiting from the UK.

Can I purchase long distance bus tickets in cash with pesos? I have read that there are restrictions on foreigners paying for 'tourism related services' with pesos, and that they are required to pay in US dollars... Is this correct?

If I can buy tickets with pesos , then it will be considerably cheaper for me to first change my dollars via the 'blue dollar rate' .
