La Cosquilla del Ángel
Colón’s best restaurant combines comfortably elegant decor, a big welcome and top service with a whimsical and unpretentious approach, particularly in the curiously named dishes, and the intriguing restaurant name, which translates to ‘The Angel’s Tickle.’ Many of the dishes combine sweet and savory flavors; try the mollejitas (or mollejas; sweetbreads) if you’re a fan. The pasta is also highly recommended and the wine list is well above average.

Juanes
With outdoor seating wrapping round a corner of the Plaza San Martín, this offers classy licuados, salads and lomitos to keep the snackers in business, and more substantial meals with decent wine selections. Good tragos until quite late make it a solid all-round favorite.

El Sótano de los Quesos
Near the tourist office, this intriguing spot serves a wide variety of artisanal cheeses and other delicacies at pretty thatched tables on a lawn looking over the port. There’s also locally made wine and beer on hand, and a cellar shop whose aromas will almost compel you to buy.

Verde Gourmet
Peaceful and welcoming, this fine little vegetarian spot has delicious crêpes and high-quality innovative mains, as well as duller soy-based 'meat' dishes. There are plenty of teas and great juices to drink, but nothing stronger.

Zalaka
Something of a Colón classic, this cozy pub on the main street would wear jeans and T-shirt if it were a person. It serves burgers and pizza, but it's better for drinks than food. There's a pool table upstairs.
