San Juan Hostel
An excellent little hostel with a variety of rooms placed conveniently between the bus terminal and downtown. Good info on tours and local attractions, and a rooftop Jacuzzi rounds out the picture.

There’s no plaza in sight, but the large, unrenovated rooms here represent fair value. Check out a few for better ventilation and light.
San Juan’s most upscale hotel teeters on corporate blandness, but pulls it off in the end, with big, stylishly decorated rooms. Services include a spa, sauna and on-site massage therapist.
This is excellent value in a drab location. It conveniently offers excursions through an on-site tour operator and is a popular place with a good restaurant. Its swimming pool is located five blocks from the hotel.
An excellent value for money option, with big modern rooms set close to the park. Also offers 'apartments' with kitchenette.
Cozy, carpeted rooms with splashes of dark wood paneling, giving them a classy edge. Little touches such as leather chairs and gold ashtray stands in the hallways give it a kitschy appeal and the central location seals the deal.
A well set-up hostel, with good kitchen and common areas and a great backyard. Also organizes wine tours and activities like kite surfing, wind sailing and trekking. One room has a balcony over the street.
A slick, business-class hotel on the plaza. The tiny rooms are a bit of a letdown, but the bathrooms are big.
With some slick design features taking the edge off the corporate blandness, this is a good deal for the price, and the well-stocked kitchenettes and rooftop pool are added bonuses.
