AS OF JANUARY 7, 2013 pre-paid on-line reciprocity fees before departure and arrival will be payable for all entries into Argentina for Americans, Australian or Canadians, whether by land , sea, or flight. :(
Pre-payment has already started, no problems reported so far, it just does not become obligatory until 28 DECEMEBER 2012 for flights to Aeroparque or for Ezeiza International Airport, BA. As of Right…
I am following up a previous post with a more detailed request for information now that we have a more solid itinerary. My wife and I will be flying into Puerto Montt (staying Puerto Varas) on 20 Nov and plan to make an overland bus trip to Bariloche (departing 29 Nov). We would like to stop along the way between the two for some hiking and sight-seeing. All advice about this route or sights would be welcome.
Specifically, I am wondering about the following:
1) What bus company…
Next year I'm planning to backpack for several months around South America.
I already have the majority of my trip planned but am having trouble sorting out the last bit.
Basically I'll be coming from Santiago Chile either to a place nearby Torres del Paines (haven't figured out which one)and then over to Argentina, or from Santiago to Argentina then Torres del Paines.
Here's the list of places I want to visit:
Torres del Paines
If I am to arrive at Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport late in the evening, would it be possible to sleep over at the Star Alliance lounge before departing next morning for Aeroparque jorge newbery airport.
i.e. is the lounge only accessible for departing passengers and not arriving ones? :)
Hi all, I'm about to be in Argentina by the end of October for about 3 weeks, I was wondering if could be a good time to see whales and Killer-wales reaching the beach to hunt.
Hi, I'm trying to reserve bus tickets with Always Glaciers. They told me that the only way to pay in advance and thus reserve my tickets is to send photocopies of my credit card and passport via email. I'm not really comfortable with this option, but I really need the tickets for those exact days and there are no other buses which I could use. Does anyone have any experience with them and their reliability? Unfortunately no other companies have buses on Mondays.
its my first time to South America and everything seems so amazing that I wanna do all of them! however i do know that its impossible to do everything and would like to ask for your kind advice on possible itineraries.
I have 13 nights to spend in total, flying into and departing from Buenos Aires.
I'm keen on visiting the Iguazu Falls, Salta in the Northwest and southern towns of El Chalten, El Calafate.
1) Would it be wise (not too rushed) to fit in Salta in the NW and the…
I am looking forward to travelling to Argentina mid-October! Since this will be a quite spontaneous trip I am still wondering about the most effective way to get from A to B in Argentina and I am looking for some advice :-)
I read that it´s ok to book buses on a short term (as long as there is no holiday). I have already checked websites such as platforma10 and the bus rides seem to be quite expensive?! Or are there different prices on the spot?
What are your experiences with domestic…
My wife and I are of to Salta in a months time. In Salta we want to rent a car and drive to the Atacama desert in Chile. Some where I read, that it takes 3 or 4 days for the car rental firms, to do the paperwork for an Chilean insurance for the car. Is it really right?
I recon the trip between the two towns is pretty spectacular. Any thing to look out for in particular?
Any good midrange hotels in San Pedro de Atacama?
