Ola again :)
I know I set awfully lot of questions, but this one is a must, since on my trips around the world I have experienced very different policies about money.
Do you think I should bring cash (EUR) and exchange in exchange office upon arrival to BA or is it best to just withdraw pesos from ATM (regarding exchange rate)? Are ATMs available in more remote places like Patagonia? How about paying with paycard - is it accepted out of big cities or is it better to carry cash for stuff like…
How far in advance is it advisable to book domestic flights and long haul buses in Argentina? I would like to book as late as possible, so we can change plans due to weather or appeal of certain places and leave some space for spontaneity, but would also like to avoid high prices and possibility of not getting a flight/bus.
What is general practice if the buses are sold out (let's say a week before journey) - do bus companies tend to provide additional buses and keep selling tickets or…
Me and my boyfriend will be travelling to Argentina in October. We will reach Bariloche around October 20th. As I am getting different info from different people I ask for your advice about the weather conditions around Bariloche in that period. We would like to do Refugio Frey trek - do you think it will be possible or still covered in snow? Do you recommend any other day trek accessible by public transport? Of course nice view is top priority :) we are fit and experienced trekkers…
Can you please let me know if the itinerary I am thinking (Of course reading a lot of ideas in forums and guide books) make sense or need some modification? Also if possible reply few question.
I will keep posting only the part of itinerary in respective forums, like here will post for Patagonia Part only along with in Chile Forum.
Bolivia Part is…
I am looking to stay at a ranch/estancia in Argentina for 5-7 days. Looking online, it is easy to find expensive, luxurious ranches that are marketed towards tourists. However this isn't the type of experience I am looking for.
I am looking for a more authentic, raw, down home estancia experience. Ideally it would be a working ranch. My traveling partners and I are more than willing to go to work on the ranch if that's part of the deal, and basic amenities and rooms are preferred to something…
I'll be travelling to Malargue in late January but am uncertain as to date. Are there sufficient hotel rooms available at this time of year that I will find something in the $90-$150/ night range a week or so in advance?
Also, I will be driving from Villa Pehuenia and have not found any accommodations about half way between the two cities. Do they exist but are just not easy to find on the English speaking web pages or should I plan on making this 8 hour drive in one day?
Is December a worthwhile time to go to Peninsula Valdez to sea the wildlife (penguins, whales, etc...).
We arrive in BA on 12/11/16 and will spend a few days exploring BA and were wondering if we should go to VALDEZ Peninsula for a day before heading to El Calafate and El Chalten.
My gf and I will be renting camping gear in Puerto Natales (PN) for a 4-day hike around Torres Del Paine (TDP) before going to El Calafate (EC). My question is: is there a way to rent gear in PN and then not have to go back to PN to return it? It would suck to have to go PN -> TDP (hike) -> PN (return gear) -> EC, when PN is the opposite direction of EC.
