Introducing Long Bay
On the east side of Antigua, Long Bay has clear-blue, kid-friendly waters and a gorgeous white-sand beach that’s reef-protected and good for snorkeling. Two resorts bookend the beach, which is lined with souvenir shops, a water-sports concession and a couple of bars. If you have a car, Long Bay makes a good day trip.
Just before the bay, a spur road veers off to Devil’s Bridge, a modest sea arch at Indian Town Point, an area thought to be the site of an early Arawak settlement. Dramatic waves add excitement as they sometimes break over the rocks and erupt through blowholes. It’s about a minute’s walk to the east of the roundabout where the road ends.
The road to Long Bay runs past the village of Seatons, which is the base not just of Antigua Paddles but also of Stingray City Antigua, where you can feed, pet and swim with several-dozen stingrays in calm waters encircled by a coral reef. Turn off at the church.
