We are 4 middle aged women looking for a house to rent on the lagoon in Samoa ( for easy access to snorkelling).
We would need approx. 3 bedrooms. Has anyone found such accommodation.
I am interested in heading to American Samoa to partake on working vacations opportunities so I can stay a little longer there and if possible and visit Samoa as well. And see if I would like to live there. What type of opportunities are available there.
I have a few questions though.
If I would like to stay longer i.e more than a month what lodging there is available that is descent but won't cost a fortune.
I read that American Samoa requires even non residents to obtain a local drivers…
I found this link on here which lets one know if he needs a travel permit or not to enter American Samoa, and it says that citizens of Malta don't need a visa. Does that mean that no visa is needed but only a travel permit is, which is something you get upon arrival, or are they the same thing as someone on the thread had written that they are the same thing! This is very confusing... I will be travelling from Costa Rica to Samoa and hopefully would be able to also spend some time…
I am planning to visit several pacific islands including Fiji, Samoa (and possible American Samoa), New Zealand and etc in Nov & Dec 2015. I am holding Malaysian passport and from what I searched online saying that I will need to have American Samoa entry permit if I want to visit American Samoa.
Do anyone know where can I apply for this entry permit? What is the procedure and how long does it take?
Can anyone know if there is any budget/backpackery/dorm type accommodation anywhere on American Samoa. I'm trying to decide how many days to stay there, and the accommodation costs are a factor.
I have, of course, checked the list and Sweden is for sure one of the listed countries.
Just to be even more sure I have put this question to the relevant authorities
in American Samoa, and the say that I DO NEED the permit.
I have applied for the permit at the Attorney General´s office, but -
they do not answer since two months.
Having booked the flight and accomodation, it´s getting late...
My question here:
Has anybody on this forum made the trip to American Samoa?
Are there any cheaper options for lodging on American Samoa? Is it possible to camp any place with my own tent? I already know about the no camping in the National Park. Trying to spend three weeks in Samoa and American Samoa
but prices seem a little steep!
