Bursting with wildlife, the national parks of Tanzania will have you continually reaching for your camera. Travelling across the undulating plains of the Serengeti, go in search of the iconic Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes. Descending into the dramatic Ngorongoro Crater, a microcosm of famous east African scenery and wild game, lose yourself in the herds of zebra and wildebeest. Day 1 Arusha
Situated close to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Mount Kilimanjaro, Arusha is a relaxed, friendly city with a wealth of famous sites on its doorstep.
Day 2 Lake Manyara National Park
Dense forests, open plains and beautiful lake shores reveal Africa's animals in their element at Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions.
Days 3-4 Serengeti National Park
Teeming with animals and home to the famous migration of the wildebeest, the Serengeti is a marvel with rolling plains, iconic acacia trees and mesmerising skies.
Days 5-6 Ngorongoro Crater
Photographic opportunities abound in the Ngorongoro Crater, a massive volcanic caldera with so many animals, it's hard to know where to look first.
Day 8 Arusha
Situated at the base of Mt Meru, Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania and there's plenty to see and do. There are lots of good bars and restaurants. Markets and shops have most things you could want or need alongside various arts and crafts from the region.
