Days 1-2 Victoria Falls
Start the journey near one of nature's most amazing wonders. Mighty Victoria Falls is an awesome sight to behold and a fitting start to this trip through Zimbabwe. On a visit to Victoria Falls, witness the spray flung high into the air as torrents of white water dramatically rumble over the edge and into the canyon below. The falls are seriously powerful so be prepared to get wet.
Day 3 Hwange National Park
Learn about the plight of the endangered African wild dog and the efforts to save this species from extinction on a visit to the Painted Dog Conservation. Afterwards, journey to the wilds of Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park. Head out and explore the park in an open 4x4 to try and spot lions, hyenas, giraffes, elephants and more.
Days 4-5 Bulawayo
Travel to Zimbabwe's second largest city, Bulawayo, and use free time to explore the markets, relax in a cafe or catch a local football match. The next day, head deep into the wilderness of Matopos National Park, the domain of rare black and white rhinos.
Day 6 Masvingo
Travel to Masvingo, Zimbabwe's oldest colonial settlement. Explore ancient ruins thought to have once been a royal palace of the Zimbabwean monarchy and still considered one of the most significant archaeological sites in southern Africa.
Day 7 Mapungubwe
Cross the border into South Africa and head for Mapungubwe National Park where spectacular scenery, biodiversity and archaeological treasures await. Discover the culture and customs of the local tribes who lived in this mystical, historically rich area.
