Itinerary
Day 1 Johannesburg
Begin this amazing adventure in the sprawling city of Johannesburg.
Days 2-3 Kruger National Park
Travel the famous Panorama Route and take in rugged views from the breathtaking Blyde River Canyon. The African safari then begins in earnest, searching for the iconic Big Five on a game drive through Kruger National Park. When dusk settles, choose to see what happens in the golden grasses after dark on an optional night safari.
Day 4 Swaziland/Hlane Royal National Park
Cross the border into the Kingdom of Swaziland and visit a local village to learn about Swazi culture, customs and beliefs. In the afternoon, visit Hlane Royal National Park and track rare rhinos in the scrub.
Days 5-6 Mozambique Beach Camp
Head to the coast for the relaxing beach holiday leg of the tour. Mozambique is a wonderful place to go scuba diving or snorkelling and discover colourful underwater worlds, take a dolphin spotting cruise or stay onshore and explore vibrant markets. Chill out on the beach, soak up the warm waters of the Indian Ocean or wash down a meal of fresh seafood with a cold beer.
Day 7 St Lucia Estuary
Home to thousands of birds, mammals and reptiles, the diverse ecosystem of St Lucia Estuary provides plenty of opportunity for bird watching and animal spotting.
Day 8 Zululand
Travel into the heart of Zululand district and be treated to traditional food and rousing song and dance on a homestay.
Day 9 Durban
Travel to Durban, catch some sun and relax in the beachside playground of South Africa.
Days 10-11 Drakensberg
Hike through the dramatic cliffs, valleys and plateaus of the stunning Drakensberg mountain range.
Days 12-13 Lesotho Highlands
Enter the Kingdom of Lesotho and be instantly charmed by the warmth of the people and the majestic mountain scenery. Visit villages and markets - choose to travel on foot or by pony.
Days 14-15 Wild Coast/Cintsa
The charming seaside town of Cintsa is surrounded by sparkling, blue ocean and sun-dappled forests. The local Xhosa people live a traditional lifestyle deeply rooted in tribal customs. Enjoy the range of outdoor activities on offer, from mountain biking to swimming.
Day 16 Addo Elephant National Park
Nestled in the heart of a densely forested valley, Addo Elephant National Park boasts a spectacular array of animals. An afternoon game drive will provide a chance to encounter elephants and endangered rhinos.
Days 17-18 Garden Route/Tsitsikamma National Park
Discover a mesmerising pocket of the Garden Route. Admire the ancient forests which tumble down to the pounding Indian Ocean. Daredevils have the option to test their mettle on the world's highest bungee jump.
Day 19 Oudtshoorn
Stop by the sleepy hamlet of Knysna then continue on to the ostrich capital of the world.
Day 20 Stellenbosch Wine Region
Explore the magical Cango Caves then settle into beautiful Stellenbosch.
Day 21 Cape Town
Travel through the Cape Region and visit a winery to indulge in crisp wines. Head to Cape Town - a city blessed with natural beauty and home to an abundance of cafes, galleries and bars.
