Nature is front-and-centre on this 14-day trip across three countries—South Africa, Swaziland and Mozambique—with plenty of time devoted to the region’s amazing national parks and spotless beaches. Wander around the Portuguese-influenced cities of Mozambique, take a traditional dhow safari boat around Bazaruto National Park, track the Big Five in Kruger National Park, drive the legendary Panorama Route to Johannesburg and even stop in at a Planeterra project along the way. Itinerary

Day 1 Johannesburg

Day 2 Johannesburg/Lobamba (1B)
Visit the mountainous Kingdom of Swaziland. Ruled by King Mswati III, Swaziland is one of three monarchies in Africa. Here, explore the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, situated in the “Valley of Heaven”, the Ezulwini Valley. Enjoy an included guided birding walk in the sanctuary. Day 3 Lobamba/Maputo (1B)
Spend a bit of time exploring the city, with options like the Cathedral of Nossa Senhora da Conceicao, the Casa de Ferro (Iron House), which was designed by the same architect as the Eiffel Tower, and the Jardim Tunduru (botanical gardens). Additional Notes: It is possible to be denied entry at the border if you haven't organized your visa in advance. For the best price and less hassle at the border, it's best to get a Mozambique visa from an embassy before arriving. Day 4 Maputo/Inhambane (1B)
Head to the first beach stop at Praia do Tofo. Stop in Inhambane for a introduction to this town. In Tofo, opt to swim, snorkel, dive, or relax. Heading north, it's easy to see what makes Mozambique so captivating. Watch the beautiful coastal scenery slide by as we head to Praia do Tofo. Additional Notes: Stay in traditional beach lodges. Day 5 Inhambane (1B)
Enjoy free time to laze on the white-sand beach, go swimming, surfing, snorkelling, or diving and take plenty of time to enjoy the laid back atmosphere.
Day 6 Inhambane/Vilanculos District (1B)
Continue to Vilanculos, our jumping-off point to explore stunning Bazaruto National Park, one of southern Africa's largest marine parks. Enjoy the Indian Ocean's sparkling clear waters and the abundance of marine life. Additional Notes: The evening will be spent in Vilanculos in chalet-type accommodation. Day 7 Vilanculos District (1B, 1L, 1D)
The itinerary for the dhow excursion through the archipelago is flexible based on weather and other conditions. The plan is to depart for Magaruque Island with opportunities to snorkel and explore the island's sandy beaches. Enjoy lunch and relax before setting sail for the beach camp back on the mainland. Additional Notes: The camp is equipped with tents, mattresses, pillows, sleeping bags, lights, showers, and basic toilets— just rustic enough. Day 8 Vilanculos District (1B, 1L)
Head to Bazaruto Island to hike the sand dunes. Visit 2 Mile Reef for another excellent snorkelling opportunity. Enjoy lunch on the island before heading back to mainland Vilanculos for a night in town. Additional Notes: Accommodation is back in the chalets in Vilanculos town. Day 9 Vilanculos District/Xai-Xai (1B)
Travel to a lodge about 30km (18.6 mi) outside Xai-Xai. Arrive in the late afternoon and take some time to relax in the area. Additional Notes: Our lodge is located on the beach of Praia de Jangamo, about 30km (18.6 mi) south of Inhambane. Transport: Private Vehicle (6.50 hour(s))
Day 10 Xai-Xai (1B)
Travel to Xai-Xai town for a morning of sightseeing, including a visit to the Central Market where locals do their fresh produce, fish, and meat shopping. Continue to the open air furniture factory, situated under several cashew trees, where you can watch local craftsmen practice their centuries old trade. Visit the shops in the centre of the town and opt to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to the resort for an afternoon of relaxing on the beach. Included Activities: Xai-Xai Visit
Day 11 Xai-Xai/Kruger National Park (1B)

Day 12 Kruger National Park/Manyeleti (1B)
Manyeleti is situated away from the mainstream tourist areas showing off the tranquility of the African Bush in absolute seclusion. Day 13 Manyeleti (1B)
Opt to go for an open safari vehicle game drive in Manyeleti Game Reserve. Later, enjoy the sights along the famous Panoroma Route. In the evening, sit around the campfire with a sunset drink and enjoy a local meal and traditional dancing by the villagers. Day 14 Manyeleti/Johannesburg
