Introducing Mazar-e Sharif to Badakhshan
The road from Mazar-e Sharif to Badakhshan performs a large V, heading south past Tashkurgan and Samangan to the junction town of Pul-e Khumri. Here it switches north towards Kunduz before leaving the plains and climbing into the mountains of the far northeast.
