Lonely Planet review for Cabul Coffee House
With funky paintings on the wall and some mellow jazz on the stereo, this is a great addition to the Kabul scene. As befits its name, the coffee is great, as are the juices. Grab a paper or something from the bookswap and chill out in the garden. The menu has sandwiches (from 300Afg), burgers and the like.

A sanctuary in Kabul
jcravens42 recommends this,
The best burgers in town, great coffee, affordable wireless and an atmosphere that gives you an idea of just how terrific Kabul could be if it were safer. This is a place women can go by themselves during the day and feel safe (but it's still best to be with someone else when you go). Don't miss the bookshelf inside -- contributions to the bookshelf are very appreciated, and you are welcomed to take a book away. A particularly good spot for people working in Kabul and looking for a regular Friday haunt. Note that Cabul Coffee House was founded and used to be owned by Deborah Rodriguez of Kabul Beauty School fame.
