  1. Maritime Heritage Trail

    One of the only trails of its kind in the USA, the Maritime Heritage Trail was still technically under development at the time of research, but already taking 'hikers'. If you've ever wanted to explore a sunken ship, this may well be the best opportunity in the country. Six are located within the park grounds; the trail experience involves taking visitors out, by boat, to the site of the wrecks where they can swim and explore among derelict vessels and clouds of fish – there are even waterproof information site cards placed among the ships.   2. Mérouville

    The waters off Bonifacio offer plenty of scope for diving. The Îles Lavezzi – the most popular diving area – feature a variety of sites for all levels. At Mérouville, Bonifacio's signature dive site, divers are guaranteed to get up close and personal with big groupers. Sign up with Corsica Diving, which is a well-established dive operator.
