Korean cooking courses in English start at 10am and 2pm on weekdays at Seoul Culinary College. Book one week ahead, no minimum number. The one-hour kimchi course costs W60,000, while the two-hour courses cost W80,000 to W100,000. The price includes a lavishly illustrated Korean cookbook.

Pilar Cabrera, owner of La Olla restaurant, gives classes from 9:30am to 2pm on Tuesday and Thursday at her guesthouse in central Oaxaca. Participants (minimum four, maximum eight) prepare and eat one of 15 five-course Mexican or Oaxacan menus on offer, usually including some vegetarian dishes.
