The cable car is the main attraction in the central mountains, making a spectacular trip through Kanka-kei, particularly when the gorge is ablaze with autumn colours (though be warned that many others have the same idea). Of course, you could just take in the breathtaking views of the Inland Sea from the area around the upper cable-car station without taking the ride.
