Uganda Video Gorillas, Tourism & Conservation, Uganda

There are around 700 mountain gorillas surviving today. All of them live in central African nature reserves on the border between Congo, Rwanda and Uganda. By far the biggest threat to our highly endangered genetic cousins comes from humans clearing forests - poor farmers seeking firewood or a little more land to grow crops. But In a remote corner of Uganda, sustainable eco-tourism is starting to help both the local community and mountain gorillas. (2009)
