Rangitoto Island
Blog: Snaps and Flip Flops - 4 March 2012
Feb 10, 2012 - So we came to Auckland without any plans. We thought we'd venture out in the city and have a nice little walk along the main thoroughfare. As we reached the end of Queen Street and into the port, we found out that the ferry to Rangitoto Island was just about to leave. So we bought our tickets and hopped into the ferry, with little idea of what we were supposed to see or do. But no matter, we're ready for anything! Err…apparently not for hiking. Well, the hike to the summit wasn't really that difficult, it's just that we weren't really dressed for it.

My Auckland Bridge Bungy
Blog: Snaps and Flip Flops - 22 February 2012
I couldn't agree more when I overheard someone say that New Zealand is the world's playground. There's something about this place that makes you do crazy things. One of them being jumping off a bridge. I knew bungy jumping is something that I have to try. I've missed this chance when we went to Queenstown a couple of years ago, so i knew this time I gotta do it. I've never really been afraid of heights, but i wasn't quite sure how I would feel about literally throwing myself in the air. I guess i just have to find out :)

Tongariro Crossing: Post Mortem
Blog: Snaps and Flip Flops - 19 February 2012
The Tongariro Alpine Crossing was tagged as one of New Zealand's best day hike. A life changer even. While it wasn't as core-shaking as they made it out to be, it did change a few things in the way I perceived myself. Even though the hike was the main reason I made this trip, I was a bit apprehensive about doing it. Though i knew deep in my heart that I could finish it, I had my doubts as to whether I could do it on time.

Trek to Mordor
Blog: Snaps and Flip Flops - 17 February 2012
Feb 14, 2012 - The Tongariro Alpine Crossing was the supposed to be the highlight of our NZ trip, and the reason why I chose to go to New Zealand in the first place. But as luck would have it, the weather was uncooperative. We were all promptly geared up at 5:45 AM when our guide/driver told us about the weather forecast.
